How to draw ARCHER

Zentangle pattern: ArcherChristianne Gerstner created the Archer tangle pattern and this is Chris’s first pattern on TanglePatterns.com.

“I’m relatively new to this wonderful art form and while tangling the other day developed my pattern Archer. I would love to be able to tell you where it came from, what my inspiration was or even if it was a texture I saw somewhere and interpreted. I can’t tell you any of that – it popped into my head, I drew it and realized I hadn’t seen it yet in any of my many visits here and in any of the books I have.

I live in Northwest New Jersey with my husband of 26 years and our two sons…along with a menagerie of three dogs, a cat, parrot, chickens and an angora rabbit. My day job is a paraprofessional at our local school, but my dream job(s) have always been centered in art and fiber. I’ve always had a stash of sketchbooks, pencils and paints…..and metal, beads and YARN, lots of yarn. I spin, knit, crochet, weave – really there aren’t enough hours in the day. Lately all has gone by the wayside since my friend Opal introduced me to Zentangle® and tangling. I’m so looking forward to taking my journals and pens on our Camping trips this year – so many beautiful patterns to be found in nature. I can’t wait.”

Chris illustrates the steps for drawing her tangle pattern Archer, here. I chose to draw Archer as a repeating pattern and it works very well as a border too.
