How to draw JAX

Zentangle pattern: JaxThis lovely, very flexible tangle pattern, Jax, was created by Vera Giesbrecht, known on flickr as vera.1955. “I used to love playing jacks as a kid. This reminded me of that game.” For more about Vera check out her pattern Sprocket, here.

This is another great example of a real tangle  – just two or three simple strokes, repeated.

Jax has loads of simple possibilities for variation and it makes a great string. Vera posted her step-by-step instructions for drawing Jax along with a couple of variations here. She shows Jax in action here.

Check out the tag verag for more of Vera’s patterns on TanglePatterns.com.

Love the playfulness of the string. I will use it in my next “Zen” inspired tangle. I have posted my first “Zen-dala” on my new Flickr account. My name there is silverjac
Let me know what you think.

Lovely, Judy. (Note to others: be sure to view the largest size to appreciate it best.) I hope you don’t mind this suggestion – perhaps you can crop your image down closer to your artwork so it will be a larger, clearer image. It’s difficult to see your beautiful detail in this size.
