It’s the weekend and the end of Daylight Saving Time, this means short days and long nights ahead for us.
Perfect for tangling …
Today’s Primo(F) tangle is from Belgian CZT Ria Matheussen. Ria now has over 30 wonderful tangles on the site!
Primo(F) is a tangleation of Printemps, Mooka, and Flux, as Ria explains …
I am fond of Floo-ish, the one that Martha taught us on the second day of PP 10.
It looks wonderful as a border and I thought maybe I could find another one, different from Floo-ish but inspired by Martha’s tangle.
For Primo(F), I started with Printemps that ended in Mooka (step 1 and 2) and gave it a little more depth (step 3). Then I added a stylized Flux on top of Mooka that became smaller and smaller until it ended on Printemps (Step 4). I was satisfied to see a new tangle (hybrid) was popping up and really liked it after shadowing.
It is an easy one and I preferred to use it also as a border in my Zendala together with some Tipple, Flux and Cogwheel in the middle.
You also see that I formed a variation also made of Printemps, Mooka and a more pronounced Flux above and beneath Mooka.
Ria illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Primo(F) below and she features it as a ribbon-style frame in a lovely Zendala.

Share your tangle on TanglePatterns
Everyone is invited to share patterns on TanglePatterns.com, you do NOT need to be a CZT. In order for patterns to be considered for publication they must be submitted to me by email. In other words you have to let me know about them.
For a submission to qualify as a tangle it must be a genuine pattern (“a repeated decorative design”) and not “a thing to draw”.
From The Book of Zentangle:
“Keep it Non-representational. Zentangle artwork is intended to be non-representational. Zentangle’s elemental strokes are also non-representational.
We don’t teach complex elements such as hearts, stars or flowers. Tangles are also non-representational.”
Remember that tangles never start with pencil planning.
"A tangle has no pre-planning with pencil guidelines, grids or dots, no erased lines."

The first page includes instructions on how to prepare and send your JPGs. (Please save me time and do not send PDFs). It also includes a link to this PDF submission form.
When your examples include additional tangles from the site, please list them in your email. (This saves me time and my memory some wear and tear.)
If your pattern is posted on your blog, attach your steps and tile JPGs to your email and be sure your email includes the direct URL so I can link to it.
And remember, to quote Zentangle's co-founders Rick and Maria: tangles should be "magical, simple and easy to create", non-objective patterns of repetitive strokes that are easy to teach and offer a high degree of success to tanglers of all ages.

I haven’t tried it yet, but I think when you draw Primo(f) in a larger way,just on his own, as you write, you can use this tangle as a frame and fill it with other smaller tangles. Thank you for that Idea, I wish you fun while exploring…
