How to draw ELLOSO

Today’s Elloso tangle is from German CZT Nadine Roller who shared her lovely Winflo tangle with us not so long ago.

She writes that she named her tangle Elloso in tribute to her late father, because Elmar loved soccer.

In Nadine’s post she explains that this tangle came to her on the occasion of her father’s birthday. On this special day feeling sad “and alone with my thoughts and feelings” she began tangling.

“i have tangled at his birthday until the early morning hours and suddenly i have been so happy.”

More clear testament to the the power of Zentangle® to take us out of ourselves, whatever our troubles or pain. Simply remarkable.

Pezember

Elloso is similar in effect to CZT Peter Fruehwirt’s recent Pezember which is based on a dot-grid where Elloso is formed on a traditional squared grid. Both interesting tangles with lots of room for tangle creativity with shading and ink or graphite fills.

Nadine illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Elloso here on her blog where she also features Zentangle tiles showing several ways to vary this geometric tangle. As she says, “All the tiles have the same pattern. They look soooo different that it is hard to believe.”
