Pozer is a lovely organic tangle pattern from West Virginia’s Beth Snoderly, and it couldn’t be easier to draw. Pozer is a perfectly pretty Monday tangle.
Today is a holiday celebrated both in the USA (Columbus Day) and in Canada (Thanksgiving), and it’s also the first day of CZT XII training in Providence RI. By the end of the week a whole new “batch” of eager and excited CZTs will be launched across the planet and we welcome them all! Spreading the virus of Zentangle® love 🙂 And as one of my favorite artists, Canadian poet-singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen croons in his own inimitable voice, “there ain’t no cure for love.”
And now, back to Pozer which simply “starts with a swirlie and then add on three ‘petals’ at a time,” explains Beth.
Poser is a very useful fill pattern, you just keep going and going until your section is done. And it can be quite hypnotic to draw. If you start the center swirlie close to a finished motif, you achieve a layered “behind” look.
You can shade this in different ways too. In my example I just used a touch in the center of each to give a bit of depth, but if you fancy shading each “petal” that’s another way to go too. I predict Pozer will become very popular.

Zentangle are so uniquely beautiful. They caught my eye immediately. I’m a special education Paraprofessional and although, I’m not aCZT, I asked the teacher I work with if I could give a lesson to our students because of the repeated patterns, for Fun Fridays. The shape they used was the first letter of they names. We all had fun.
Ah, sugar! I’ve been drawing these flowers since I was a kid, thinking everyone drew like this; I could have had me an original tangle pattern, LOL. I still draw my flowers this way, but with a slightly larger starting spiral–why change a perfectly good method when it works 🙂
This is such a darling pattern. I love flowers at it is. This tangle pattern will make a cute all-over print pattern on fabric.
