How to draw LIMPITZ

Zentangle pattern: Limpitz. Image © Linda Farmer and TanglePatterns.com. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. You may use this image for your personal non-commercial reference only. The unauthorized pinning, reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal. This Zentangle pattern, Limpitz, was created by Jo Newsham, known as “Jo in NZ” on flickr.

From Auckland (the city of sails), New Zealand, it’s not surprising a marine tangle pattern would spring from her pen. Jo’s Zentangle drawings are very distinctive and she often uses circles and mandala motifs as a base for her creations.

Jo is a fiber artist you can find here on her blog, where she says “I’m still a Crazy Quilter at heart, but enjoy experimenting with new ideas and mediums. I’m always ready to learn, and always willing to teach.” Check out her etsy shop, Functional Fiber, here. Beautiful hand embroidered embellished items to admire (and purchase!) there.

On flickr, look for this arrow in the lower right corner of your screen to download the steps.

Limpitz is fun to draw and shade and makes a great filler. Jo illustrates the step-by-steps for drawing Limpitz here.

Just love the work that Jo in NZ does, so flowing.

Whoa…ma’am you are INSANELY talented…was looking at your Flickr and thought, “I should just throw my pen down and quit.” Your imagination and ability to mesh the tangles so seamlessly is mind boggling. I absolutely love the orbs with ‘bite marks’…GREAT idea. Also kept thinking, “these huge orbs…like the Death Star finally got a great interior/exterior designer!” (yes, I’m a nerd.) Just wanted to tell you how beautiful your work is and how obnoxiously jealous I am. =-)
