How to draw APOLLO

Greetings my tangling friends! As Elmo recently asked his followers, “How is everybody doing?”

At a minimum, I hope you’re keeping safe, warm and healthy 🙂

Today we’re exploring a bold, dramatic tangle called Apollo. (A break from hearts!)

Apollo is from CZT Beth Gaughan and it’s her seventh on the site.

Beth writes,

I deconstructed this tangle after seeing a pattern on the lounge ceiling of the Apollo Hotel in Amsterdam where I recently stayed. The hotel is a lovely building that was originally built for the 1928 Olympics, and was remade into a hotel with an Art Deco flair some years later.

Beth illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Apollo below, “I show Apollo on the Renaissance tile with Quandary, on the standard tile with Flux and Pokeroot, and on the Bijou tile as a monotangle shaded to look like pipes instead of a grid.”
