How to draw BINARY

Hi there and welcome back for more fun and creative tangle inspiration! Thanks as always for your company 🙂

Our easy Monday tangle named Binary comes from North Carolina CZT Beth Gaughan. And it brings Beth’s tangle contributions to a total of one dozen. So far.

Beth shares her inspiration for Binary and how she named it,

I saw this pattern on a lampshade in a hotel in Virginia on our recent trip to Pennsylvania and Virginia.

I named this tangle Binary, because the initial strokes remind me of the old binary code of ones and zeros.

As Beth notes, Binary does share DNA with Beth Snoderly’s Chime. Binary is a great minimalist tangle but has lots possibilities for fun explorations and Beth gives us some ideas in her lovely tiles below.

Beth illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Binary below, “I show it as a standard monotangle on the Renaissance 3Z tile, going rogue on the Bijou with variations in inking, and with Icanthis, Pokeroot, and Cubine on the standard tile.”
