Whatever your plans, I wish you a safe and relaxing long weekend.
Today is the wrap up of Zentangle®’s month-long #WELLbeing project honoring Mental Health Awareness Month so Spanish CZT Pilar Pulido’s Well-T tangle is … well timed? 😉
On her site Pilar writes that Well-T was originally inspired by this photo she took took in the summer of 2021 of the facade of an old house in Buitrago de Lozoya in the countryside near Madrid.
The house is located in Picasso’s Square in the village.
After analyzing its possible deconstruction and studying it a little more, I noticed that visually it was very similar to the (Zentangle-original) Well tangle.
I loved deconstructing this tangle, it has a very floral air now that it’s spring, and I also find it easy and relaxing to draw. Try making the orbs bigger and experiment.
And because you know I have to, here’s a little blurb from Google about the lovely town Pilar visited last summer:
Buitrago del Lozoya is a Spanish town on the Lozoya River near Madrid. It’s known for its well-preserved Moorish town walls. The 15th-century Castle of Buitrago del Lozoya was built in the Islamic-Spanish Mudéjar style. The Church of Santa María del Castillo has an ornate coffered ceiling. The Picasso Museum–Eugenio Arias Collection includes the artist’s ceramics and drawings donated by his friend, a local barber.
From the official site of the Madrid Tourism Board:
Picasso Museum
One of the greatest tourist attractions in Buitrago de Lozoya is the Picasso Museum, accommodating the collection of works by Pablo Picasso owned by Eugenio Arias, native to Buitrago, who was his barber and friend. Picasso paid Arias with his work, and so the barber collected more than 70 posters, ceramics, lithographs and drawings. The pieces are displayed along with others added to the collection in later years.
Pilar illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Well-T here on her blog where she shares some examples of Well-T and the photo of her inspiration for deconstructing this tangle.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your thanks helps motivate them to continue to share! And please share a link to your favorite tangles on social media. Thanks!

Share your Tangle on TanglePatterns
Have you created a tangle you'd like to share with the community? I'd love to see it.
You do not need to be a CZT to submit a pattern. Many of the tangles on TanglePatterns began as ideas shared by readers just like you.
Before sending your pattern, please take a few minutes to review What Makes a Zentangle® Tangle? and How to Submit Your Pattern Deconstruction to TanglePatterns. These pages on the SUBMIT YOUR PATTERN menu explain what qualifies as a tangle and how to prepare your pattern.
Not every pattern will be selected for publication, but I sincerely appreciate everyone who takes the time to share their creativity and contribute to TanglePatterns.
When you're ready, simply send your pattern by email following the instructions on the submission page.
I look forward to seeing what you've created.

- What Makes a Zentangle tangle? A Zentangle has no up or down and is not a picture of something, so you have no worries about whether you can draw a hand, or a duck. You always succeed in creating a Zentangle. Patterns that are drawings of a recognizable naturalistic or actual object, figure, or scene, are not tangles, and tangles never start with pencil planning.
