Just in time for this Hallowe’en weekend! Today we have a cool web-like fragment to explore. Wait for it, you’ll see what I mean in a moment …
Hallopace is from Swedish CZT Annika Wiener and it’s her first on the site.
I’m from Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, CZT#33.
When I first heard about and saw the Zentangle Method™ it immediately appealed to me as hand in glove! It was something similar to what I had been doing in heavy aquarelle as a comforting activity for lonely sad times. I’m passionate for the method and enjoy tangling myself and also to introduce others for many good reasons. Zentangle is a true developer of mind and soul, much more than you can imagine!
I’m tangling for mindfulness when I have thoughts that get stuck in my head. The Zentangle Method is very useful not only for joy but also as a relaxing and developing tool, presented and used with all its benefits…and on top, a surprising outcome appears! I love it!
About her Hallopace tangle Annika says,
My tangle Hallowpace is a an easy and very relaxing tangle. It can be put together in different ways and directions and also with other tangles.
At first it came to me as a spiders web and the variations made me think about pace “one stroke at the time” “make it your pace”. How suitable just now; soon Halloween is here and as a reminder I gave the tangle the name Hallowpace.
At first glance Hallopace seems like CZT Suzanne McNeill’s Web tangle (see Step 6 below) but Annika has explored Hallopace in a different way as a fragment. In the tile included with her steps Annika shows how it can be used to create several different patterns, fragment-style by flipping, rotating and so on.
Annika illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Hallowpace below, “The variations includes orbs, Tipple, Fescu and dots.”
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your thanks helps motivate them to continue to share! And please share a link to your favorite tangles on social media. Thanks!

- "A Zentangle has no up or down and is not a picture of something, so you have no worries about whether you can draw a hand, or a duck. You always succeed in creating a Zentangle." Thus patterns that are drawings of a recognizable naturalistic or actual object, figure, or scene, are not tangles. A pattern is not always a tangle — here's what makes a tangle. TIP: tangles never start with pencil planning.

Another name for this could have been PENCILSHAVIN, as it looks like pencil shavings!
A fun fragment. Playing with it on a folded paper star.
I really like your fragment. So many possibilities. I think I’ll play with it this afternoon. I like the curved lines.
Thank you
