Hi again everyone, thanks for keeping me company on this fine, cold winter day!
The upcoming Valentine’s Day celebration not only means hearts, it mean lots of love and Hugs! In this case a cool woven grid-style tangle.
Hugs is another “late night tangle” from Guernsey tangler Sarah Harrison, she’s been quite prolific lately from all her late nights.
In this minimalist tile, Sarah illustrates a free-form style of Hugs.
She writes,
A pattern that would even make a great string and great for using tools like rounding and sparkle if wanted.
The first example is s free form, even one in a triangle. The second is on a simple grid. It pretty much fits into any shape, a bit like Elance.
When looking at it I thought it could look a bit like fluffy cushions and the name Hugs just sort of jumped out of nowhere. So Hugs it was 🙂
Sarah illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Hugs below and she includes a striking monotangle with a version in the center of Hugs with rounding added.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your thanks helps motivate them to continue to share! And please share a link to your favorite tangles on social media. Thanks!

Thanks Vera! Alas, the server’s software doesn’t recognize device icons and changes them all to ?? marks. The software is fine with old school typed emoticons like 🙂 … so your ?? will remain a sweet mystery 😉
This is a very elegant tangle. Thank you. I am a hugger so this isolation stuff is difficult for me. But, I’ll think of your tangle for now.
