Hello again my friends, thanks for joining me today.
And welcome to Wednesday’s 3M tangle from NY CZT Beatrice Aronas.
Beatrice writes,
This pattern came up quite unexpectedly when I responded to the recent assignment published in the Zentangle® app prompting us to explore embedded letters – one of my favorite projects.
I chose the letter M, but there was no way I could find the tangles that seemed appropriate at the time.
After trying a few my favorites I settled on several versions with the letter M as a tangle.
After a few attempts, I suddenly found it interesting how the angles of the letters connected to the adjacent M letter create a kind of mosaic or a cluster of edgy shapes.
It turned out that this can be quite interesting and has many options.
Beatrice provides two sets of steps showing different versions of 3M and it turns out my example apparently is an unintended semi-mashup of both 🙂 3M is quite absorbing to tangle as you turn your tile and determine where you’re placing the next shape for a pleasing end result. Fun and interesting to tangle.
Beatrice illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing 3M below where she includes three fun and “edgy” Zentangle tiles featuring imaginative ways to embellish her tangle.
These are the steps for her 3M variation and she includes two elegant tile examples:
