This Kitchen Table Tangles video (KTT) is part of a special series focusing on tangling for children — aka “Zentangle Apprentices”.
For more background on the Zentangle Apprentice videos, see the Zentangle Apprentice Lesson #1.
“Even though we have created it with kids in mind, we think that friends of all ages might enjoy to tangle along as well.”
In the Zentangle Apprentice Lesson #2 (27:44) video, once again Molly Hollibaugh tangles with her daughters Indy and Mazzy, each using a different color Zentangle tile, a black Sakura Micron 01 pen, Blue and Red Micron 01 pens, and Gelly Roll Moonlight pens (see supplies list below).
Zentangle-original tangles used: Arukas, Indy-Rella, Pokeleaf, and Knightsbridge.

You can use any pens and paper you have on hand for this fun Zentangle lesson. These are the supplies used in the video:
- Sakura Moonlight Gelly Roll pens
- Sakura Micron 01, Black pen (the “standard” Zentangle pen)
- Sakura Micron 01 pens in Blue and Red
- Zentangle paper tiles: original square white tile, black Zendala tile, white Zendala tile
For a list of all the KTT videos with links to the publicly-available ones, visit the ZENTANGLES > ZENTANGLE KTT VIDEOS page on the top menu bar of any page on the site.
Background: The KTT videos are available in the Zentangle Mosaic app. Although most of the KTT videos are only available to the subscribers of the paid version of the app ($2.99/month, or $24.99/year), occasionally Zentangle makes a KTT video publicly available and I also add it to TanglePatterns as we’re doing today.

- "A Zentangle has no up or down and is not a picture of something, so you have no worries about whether you can draw a hand, or a duck. You always succeed in creating a Zentangle." Thus patterns that are drawings of a recognizable naturalistic or actual object, figure, or scene, are not tangles. A pattern is not always a tangle — here's what makes a tangle. TIP: tangles never start with pencil planning.
