Happy Monday! Another great week ahead … tomorrow is Tax Day in the USA, so when you’ve got your Federal Tax Return forms signed, sealed and posted, here’s a fun and easy tangle for you to relax with.
If you’re submitting your forms the old fashioned way by snail mail, you might enjoy embellishing the envelope to give the IRS folks a smile in their very busy days 🙂
Sooz is from Australian tangler and faithful TanglePatterns supporter and commenter, Sue Zanker, “a ‘sort of retired’ professional Calligrapher and lettering artist of over 30 years.” Sue has several tangles on the site and she’s also provided some strings for our resource, namely TanglePatterns String 009, 021, and 029. You can learn more about Sue’s background with her Diosea tangle.
Sue combines her calligraphy background and her tangling expertise on her pretty ZIA illustration below for a greeting card featuring her Sooz tangle together with CZT Carole Ohl’s Footlites, and some Zentangle®-original tangles. BTW, the letter R on Sue’s original is filled with gold which shows up an odd dark green (or solid black?) so we’ll just use our “gold” imaginations, okay?
Sue illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Sooz below where she also shows how to use it as a ribbon-style or border tangle, and on a curved grid. As Sue notes, there are “heaps of variations of blacked areas”.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours.
Check out the tag suez for more of Sue’s tangles on TanglePatterns.com.
