Nik is a Diva Dance-related tangle by Canadian CZT Bunny Wright.
Nik is Bunny’s eighth tangle on the site, most recently she shared her Jesterstick tangle with us.
She writes,
I named this pattern ‘Nik’ after a young man who attended a Zentangle® workshop of mine some time ago. He was having trouble with the patterns that were circular and said straight lines were much more appealing to him. His name was Nicholas, hence the name ‘Nik’ for my pattern.
It’s very dimensional, fun to draw and has many variations.
Nik has an interesting layered appearance to it, enhanced with shading of course. Lots of auras going on here!
Bunny illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Nik below and she demonstrates it in two lovely Zentangle tiles.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours.

This looks like a great tangle.. I will definitely give this a try soon. Thanks Bunny!
Thanks, Jody, have fun with it!
I love this, Bunny! It’s settling & calming to draw, easily shaded and so dramatic! Great tangle. 🙂
Bunny I really like your Nik. I can do this! I especially like your example Zentangle where Nik appears to be going vertical then immediately goes horizontal. That is how I see it anyway! I really like that. Thank you for sharing with us. Nancy
I saw someone use this tangle earlier today. I knew I wanted to try it ASAP – tried Googling it without luck. Then here it is, waiting patiently for me. In the most obvious place, where I should have looked first! I love it. I know I will love using it. Thank you!
I just tried NIK and it suits me fine, thank you for sharing it.
This is a wonderful tangle, I love it!
Yeah, thank you for this wonderful tangle. I use it alot since it came out. So much freedom in it to find variations.
Bunny, this is a great tangle! I’ve tried it with triangles and orbs, as well, and it works wonderfully. Thanks!
