Today’s lovely Agni tangle comes to us from Hungary’s Lily Moon who has six additional beautiful tangles on the site.
Lily is one of those tanglers whose tiles are instantly recognizable for her delicate Zentangle® artistry.
Lily’s pretty Agni tangle has such a poignant story associated with it. Lily has dedicated this tangle to her beloved daughter Ágnes who passed away in May at the early age of 31 after a long battle with a brain tumor.
Many in the Zentangle community have supported Lily in her grief through her heartbreaking loss. I’m sure I speak for all of us when we send Lily our sincere condolences on the loss of her daughter and we’ll keep Lily and her family, including Ágnes’s 13-year-old daughter, in our thoughts and prayers.
Agni is an easy ribbon-style or border tangle created on a “grid” of small orbs and shading adds a lot of interest to the end result.
Lily illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Agni “dedicated to the memory of my beloved daughter” here on her blog and she includes her first Zentangle tile featuring her tangle.
Update September 2019: There appears to be a technical issue with Lily’s blog so until it gets resolved here are Lily’s steps for your convenience. Kindly do not pin or post elsewhere.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please do leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours.

Dewdrop
One of six tangle enhancers along with aura, perfs, rounding, shading and sparkle. CZT Lynn Mead has posted a tutorial here. Zentangle spells it “dewdrop”, all one word. Maria explains dewdrop as “drawing a magnified version of a tangle within the same tangle.“

- "A Zentangle has no up or down and is not a picture of something, so you have no worries about whether you can draw a hand, or a duck. You always succeed in creating a Zentangle." Thus patterns that are drawings of a recognizable naturalistic or actual object, figure, or scene, are not tangles. A pattern is not always a tangle — here's what makes a tangle. Thanks Lily for a fun new tangle. Hope you are doing ok and hanging in there during this tough time.
This is a beautiful tangle, Lily. Thank you for once again lifting up and inspiring our community. Peace and love.
Such an endearing tribute to your daughter’s memory. Every time I see it, I will think of her. Your Baby is in peace now, I hope you may find some solace and peace.
Love it. Thanks for showing the variations of doing the circles as pearl as well as dewdrop.
Thank you for this cute tangle – I might try it soon!
What a beautiful tribute to your daughter! I immediately tangled it in my art journal and my catalogue of tangling designs
with the note about your daughter so I will never forget her.
Such a beautiful pattern! Your story touched my heart!
Thank you very much and God bless everyone!
