How to draw BATUMBER

Zentangle pattern: Batumber. Image © Linda Farmer and TanglePatterns.com. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. You may use this image for your personal non-commercial reference only. The unauthorized pinning, reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal.Batumber is a very pretty ribbon or border type tangle from Connecticut CZT Kelley Kelly whose most recent tangle on the site is the popular Meringue.

Batumber has been around for a little while and it’s a tangle I re-discovered in my regular archive review.

Kelley was experimenting with one of the Zentangle®-original tangles and before she went very far with it, she used CZT Katy Abbott’s Kuke tangle and her “mash up” became Batumber.

The first step of Batumber is the only remnant of the Zentangle-original tangle which forms the basis of the shape into which the Kuke-like bits are drawn.

Kelley illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Batumber here on her blog and she features it combined several ways in beautiful tiles. UPDATE June 2020: Kelley’s blog has vanished into the ether so until I hear from her with an update and a new location, here for your convenience are her steps.
