Swiss CZT Hanny Waldburger’s Tamisolo is “a variation of my pattern Tami, that can be grown in all directions… I call it ‘Tamisolo’, cause it looks like kind of half a Tami.”
“Unlike Tami, I start the spiral from the outside toward the center.
Once inside, I change the direction and ‘spiral’ me back to the outside.
Once there, I now add the tip and close the shape down to about the same level as I began it.
From this first form I can now grow it in all directions.”
Tamisolo does indeed grow in all directions to fill a section of your Zentangle® tile. I have to admit for my first (many) attempts at Tamisolo, I found it a little challenging. But once I got the hang of it and visualized the position and overall “leaf” shape each motif would fill, it became easier to control the outcome. I have a ways to go to match Hanny’s fluency with her tangle.
Hanny illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Tamisolo here on her blog and she shows many beautiful examples of how her lively tangle can turn out.

Wow!! This is sooo beautiful! Thank you Hanny! Am going to use it often. 🙂
So very inspiring. I just love the beautiful flow of Tamisolo. Thanks!
Hanny, your newest tangle is a delightful one! I haven’t drawn it yet, but while looking at your stepouts, I could “feel” the motion of it … right up my alley! I think it will go into my Tangle-a-Day calendar this very evening. 😉 Thank you!
Such a fun tangle to draw! I drew it today coupled with “Molygon”–which came out looking more like a bunch of bananas arranged in a circle, lol–and the two of them complement each other very well. This is going to be one of my “go to” patterns for many of my drawings 🙂
Thank you all for your comments! I’m happy to hear you like Tamisolo. Yes Joyce it’s indeed a lovely combination with the new Molygon!
LOVELY…
love it!
I really like this tangle, Hanny! Thank you for sharing this one with us. And Linda, I know what you mean about it taking a bit to get the hang of it. I think slowing down and paying attention will help me. 😉
One of my favourite tangles. It gives a lot of freedom for the arangement. Plus it is a wonderful string. Thank you Hanny.
This is so cool, great tangle!
Love this tangle! It’s simple to draw but does take concentration, at least until a rhythm is established. I like the way it can grow in all directions. Thank you Hanny!
