How to draw TIPZ

Here’s another super simple tangle pattern to draw, Tipz from tangler Faith Cohen who previously shared her sweet Clove tangle with us. I think you’ll really have fun with this one and find lots of places for it in your Zentangles.

Tipz reminded me of CZT Margaret Bremner’s Prestwood and even more of Cheryl Wilson’s Kandy Ribnz. All three begin with a continuous looped or serpentine line and go from there. Easy and pretty too.

“Tipz was developed around the curved line that forms its edges. It is meant to be drawn as a continuous line, which I have practiced for long periods of time. The name Tipz comes from the little black tips inside the loops. They look like marker tips to me. There are many possibilities for tangleation by changing the fill or the size of the loops.“

The continuous line base for Tipz will take your concentration to meet the loops up just right, but that focused attention is the wonderful and calming aspect of the Zentangle® Method.

Tipz is really fun to draw and as you can see, shading around the inner “tear drops” adds so much dimension to it.
