The unusual 3D tangle pattern, Bandola, was created by CZT® Sadelle Wiltshire, one of my classmates at CZT#7.
Sadelle is from Putney, Vermont, and teaches classes in the SE Vermont and SW New Hampshire area so if you’re going to be in the area, check her blog for her class schedule.
In addition to being a Certified Zentangle® Teacher, Sadelle is also a “textile jewelry artist, knitter, spinner, weaver and fiber arts teacher & facilitator, fiber retreat planner. ”
Bandola is Sadelle’s first tangle on the site. She explains that it came about when she was “browsing some fabric samples recently, a pattern similar to this caught my eye… it had to be made into a tangle! I call it ‘Bandola’, after finding a pen holder / bandolier with a similar pattern.”
This is one of those tangles that really requires your concentration – and the results are worth it. Very cool effect! Bandola starts out with a framework like CZT Sandy Bartholomew’s Coop tangle from her book, Yoga for Your Brain. If you are new to Zentangle®, you will want to start out with Sandy’s Totally Tangled before “graduating” to the more challenging Yoga for Your Brain.
Sadelle illustrates the step-by-step instructions and gives some tips on how to draw Bandola here. Update February 2022: Sadelle’s website doesn’t appear to be accessible so until that is resolved, here are her steps for tangling Bandola.

Linda… wow.. what a surprise to see the tangle pattern up on the site today! One little ‘oopsie’.. I forgot to update my about page on my site, and need to correct the fact that I moved from Bennington to Putney VT 2 years ago.. how I missed that little bit on the about page I don’t know!
Thanks a bunch, for all you do!
Sadelle Wiltshire, CZT#7

Fixed it! Thanks for letting us know.
Another great one – it is unusual and I like the dimensional look! Thank you! 🙂
Linda, I just wanted to thank you so much for all the work you do on this website and especially the fabulous pdf tangle booklet you made. It is amazing and will be very helpful. I love how you made it interactive too. Thanks again for this and all your work you are putting into this site.
Sincerely,
Dorothy Roller
