How to draw WOVEN

Suzanne McNeill’s Woven tangle pattern comes from her booklet Zentangle 2. This second title in her growing series suggests incorporating Zentangle®-inspired art in your scrapbooks, journals, ATCs, card-making, and so on.

Created with alternating rice shapes, Woven can be a little challenging if your aim is to keep them the same size and aligned accurately. All those little open spaces also provide opportunities to change the pattern with shading and fills.

Suzanne illustrates the steps for drawing Woven here. UPDATE: Early in the Summer of 2014 Suzanne McNeill’s blog was removed and all the posts and images were lost. The site is being reconstructed as much as possible but the links will no longer be the same. Many of her patterns on TanglePatterns can quite easily be figured out.
