Un diseño no es siempre un tangle

¿Qué es un tangle?

Un tangle no necesita planificarse antes con un lápiz, cuadrícula ni puntos, ni hay que borrar líneas.
Solo es la magia pura del Zentangle…un trazo de bolígrafo a la vez.

El Zentangle® Method ha sido diseñado para que no sea necesario pensar, ni planificar, ni tomar decisiones, ni enfrentarse con otros obstáculos que frecuentemente causan que las personas no puedan crear una obra de arte.

Por ello, el propósito del Zentangle es parecerse lo menos posible a un dibujo representativo. Los diseños que representan objetos, figuras o escenas que se puedan distinguir no son tangles. Por ejemplo, un diseño floral normalmente no es un tangle.

“También es por eso que (la mayor parte de las veces) les asignamos nombres a nuestros tangles que tienen poco que ver con el aspecto del tangle”, dice el co-fundador Rick Roberts. “Normalmente elegimos nombres que no creen una idea preconcebida de cómo debe lucir un tangle”.

Este es el centro del Zentangle Method. Al eliminar objetos o escenas que se puedan distinguir –y por ende el “pensamiento” asociado a ellos— nos enfocamos completamente en cada trazo del diseño abstracto y estructurado que se transforma de manera natural en algo sorprendente. Este proceso causa un cortocircuito intencional que detiene la inquietud de la mente y facilita la placentera calma que experimentamos cuando practicamos el Zentangle.

Los tangles tienen características específicas:

  • son abstractos y no objetivos (no son representativos)
  • no son direccionales ni tienen orientación específica –no hay “al revés ni al derecho”
  • normalmente, consisten en un diseño general que crece en forma natural, más bien que ser un solo patrón predominante
  • por lo general consisten de 2 o 3 simples trazos, a lo más, que se repiten
  • son lo suficientemente sencillos de dibujar sin tener que usar una cuadrícula pre-impresa o puntos o guías a lápiz
  • no se necesita regla, moldes ni ningún otro instrumento mecánico
  • son elegantes y singulares
