How to draw TRUBINE

The unauthorized pinning, reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal.Trubine is a cool geometric tangle to explore from New York CZT Susan Pundt. Her first tangle, Flowervine is a popular one on the site.

Since sharing PS23 with us Susan has become a Certified Zentangle Teacher.

After tangling for more than half a dozen years, I finally got myself to RI last fall and became a CZT. It was a wonderful experience and now many more possibilities are open to me.

This pattern snuck up on me while I was poking at Cubine the other day. The middle reminds me of Jane Monk’s Trimonds pattern, but that one was developed differently, as you can see…. perhaps this is a 2nd cousin twice removed.

This pattern can be done with any figure with 3 sides…. equilateral or straight or not…. singly, in a cluster at random, in a line, circle, or grid.

Variations can be made by changing the stripes for some angled differently, with other embellishment, or adding nothing to one or more of the outsides.

The lines are very meditative, though, and I highly recommend them. I found turning my tile (which I always seem to be doing) very helpful.
