“As we speak”, Zentangle® teacher certification seminar 29 is wrapping up in Providence and we congratulate and welcome all the new CZTs from this week and last (CZT28)!
Cirli comes to us from German CZT and mixed media artist Diana Linsse, a member of the CZT16 class.
Diana lives and teaches in and around the Munich and Nuremberg area of Germany, Cirli is her first tangle on the site.
You can learn more about Diana here — be sure to check out her colorful contemporary mixed media portfolio here.
Diana shares some Zentangle® philosophy and explains her tangle’s name,
Wherever you go, go with all your heart. Something Confucius already said.
And we know this of course but sometimes tend to forget to enjoy the path.
Cirli consists of circles and lines. When drawing it I savor the step, the line, the moment.
Diana’s steps for Cirli provide another interesting way to create an ogee shape because it begins with parallel lines, between which the wavy ogee stroke is placed. Cirli can be used both as an all-over tangle or as a ribbon/border-style tangle. For my example I added a second band crossing most of the “egg shapes” in Step 5 of Diana’s instructions.
Diana illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Cirli here on her blog and demonstrates it in two monotangle Zentangle tiles.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please do leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours.
