It’s been quite a while since we’ve had a new tangle from Southampton, UK, tangler Sharon Robinson but she’s back today with the cool K-Leesi. Her very pretty Sindoo is one of my favorites from the past.
Sharon writes,
I was playing around with Helen Williams Scrolled Feather tangle and it developed into a wing type shape. It seemed so different from the original that I wanted to give it its own name.
Game of Thrones season 6 starts soon and the dragon wing connection reminded me of the character Daenerys Targaryen. One of her titles is queen of the Dohraki which is Khaleesi and she is also know as the ‘mother of dragons’. So the tangle became K-Leesi.
It is a ideal feature or border tangle.
At first I found K-Leesi a bit tricky to get the angle of the scroll shapes aligned nicely so I used my own tip from Scrolled Feather and drew them “upside down”. It seems my brain-to-hand coordination handles the angles and the scrolls trailing down the tile much more readily than growing up the other way.
Sharon illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing K-Leesi below.
Here Sharon demonstrates “some tangleations I have developed. The shading method as always can give multiple different looks.”
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please do leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours.

Lovely tangle Sharon, I look forward to having a go at this one.
Merci très jolie. On dirait des ailes de dragons. Amitiés.
Very pretty. I can see that it would work very well with the tangles “Dragonair” and “Angel Fish,” having those same beautiful, graceful swooping curves. I look forward to trying this one.
I think that Sharon’s K-LEESI is the greatest tangle I’ve seen in a long time…I love it!! Thanks for sharing it, Linda!!
And Happy Mother’s Day to you, and to Sharon, and to all my fellow tanglers!
I love it and am to try it out in minutes. Thank all the talented folk who are so generous to share their work.
