How to draw PAUSHALÖV

Zentangle pattern: PaushalövThis fun tangle, Paushalöv, is from Tennessee CZT® Amy Broady.

Paushalöv is named for Amy’s “beloved German shorthaired pointer”, Pausha. In her post Amy describes her family’s Swedish connection and her addition of “löv” to Pausha for this tangle’s name.

Amy came up with this pattern while tangling a dog sculpture with her daughter Caroline. The sculpture was part of a fund-raising event that’s now finished.

You won’t believe how easy and positively addictive Paushalöv is. It’s composed of one stroke, a spiral, stacked in alternate directions on top of each other. Then you can add embellishments to your heart’s content. I chose simple auras and I was watching Glee when I was doing the shading, so I got a little carried away with the swing of things.

Zentangle pattern: PaushalövAmy shows Paushalöv filling a loop or tear-drop shape which reminded her of a spot on the top of Pausha’s head. But you can fill any shape with this tangle. In my first example above I visually divided the square in half corner to corner and filled each side, then added the auras. In the scratchy pen example on the right I divided it in four and filled them randomly. Addictive, I tell ya.

Amy illustrates the steps for drawing Paushalöv here on her blog and shows several possible embellishments. Thanks Amy and Caroline for sharing this fun tangle.
