Here’s another grid-like tangle pattern from Elena Hadzijaneva. Elena’s Hypnotic is one of my personal favorites of the non-official tangles.
Although Botie appears as if you might start with a lined grid, in fact this tangle pattern starts with the evenly spaced orbs at the heart of the bow ties.
In her step-by-step instructions here, Elena adds some nice shading that makes the pattern “elevate” from the page. At first I added similar shading but my example is so small I didn’t like how it turned out. So yes folks, I’m fessin’ up, I erased it (gasp). Hence the rather grey looking effect.
Speaking of shading, thanks so much for all your great feedback and comments on the Mini-Clinic. All three of us are delighted you found it useful, and with apologies to Elvis, I’m guessing there was a whole lot of shading going on this past weekend.
