How to draw SNAYLZ TRAYL

Zentangle pattern: Snaylz Trayl. Image © Linda Farmer and TanglePatterns.com. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. You may use this image for your personal non-commercial reference only. The unauthorized pinning, reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal. Here’s a lovely tangle pattern from the archives that hasn’t appeared here yet, Snaylz Trayl by Andrea Shuman, aka Cookie. Cookie’s Florez pattern is also a very popular tangle.

In my example of Snaylz Trayl, the two bottom spiral coil motifs accidentally bumped into each other forming a cool swirl pattern. Snaylz Trayl has lots of potential for variation and embellishment.

For the background here I used the Sakura Micron Graphic 1. Though the nib is quite broad compared to the .25 mm 01 Micron and you have to be careful in small areas, it sure makes short work of large fill areas and gives a lovely intense black. It does take a while to dry, so be careful not to smudge.

In Cookie’s step-by-step instructions for drawing Snaylz Trayl here, she shows it in a sweet Zentangle-inspired drawing.

Check out the tag cookies for more of Cookie’s patterns on TanglePatterns.com.

  • Thank you Anne, and Linda! I’m glad you guys like my tangle design, “Snaylz Trayl”. I like the way you drew this tangle design, Linda and I’m flattered and honored to have any of my designs published in your tangle “How to” instructions on this website. How cool is that!

I’m also excited about seeing two new books coming out by Suzanne McNeill. I’m ordering my copies pretty soon when possible.
