How to draw ST. JOHN’S CROSS

Zentangle pattern: St. John's CrossWhen CZT® Margaret Bremner first came up with her St. John’s Cross tangle, she was contemplating a different name for it thinking it might be a tangleation of Florz. But this pattern is different enough that, given encouragement including mine, she’s decided it is a stand-alone tangle and gave it the new name.

As with any grid pattern, you can achieve interesting and unusual effects by “warping” your grid. Here I drew St. John’s Cross with a standard grid and added shading between the lines.

Margaret illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing St. John’s Cross, here.
