How to draw WISKET

Zentangle pattern: WisketI must begin with an apology to Sandra Strait because my drawing of her tangle pattern Wisket is actually a variation of her original, and here’s why.

For weeks now I’ve been plagued with allergies to Florida’s prolific Spring pollens. As a result, my incredibly itchy eyes were swollen to the point I couldn’t focus to draw the fine lines of the last step of the pattern to my satisfaction. (This is not a plea for pity, it’s just the facts Jack.)

Zentangle pattern: WisketTotally frustrated with the inevitable result, I wondered “what if”? What if I fill in over those tiny parallel lines of the last step – and to my surprise I really like the bold look of this frustration “fix”. (Shall we call it Pollenize? :-) ) And there you have it, two variations and no original Wisket. But one pattern and three great looks even without any shading – thanks Sandra!

Sandra illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing her tangle pattern Wisket, here.
