How to draw WORMS

Zentangle pattern: WormsWorms is a tangle pattern with an interesting background.

Originally posted on flickr, Carolyn (carolion) says “It was something I found in a lesson plan ( I am an art teacher) on teaching kids how to control a mouse accurately when using drawing programs. I have just refined it and done some adaptions.

Worms is useful as a border or a fill and it’s a lot of fun to draw. A couple of ways that come to mind for variations are to make the “worm” striped, or simply shading alternating areas. You can also keep adding layers to it to fill the entire section.

Carolyn illustrates how to draw Worms, here.

Update: This tangle is also similar to the 05/19/2011 drawing exercise for 4th graders posted here.
