Suzanne McNeill’s Barberpole tangle appeared in her Zentangle 3
Barberpole is a simple and useful pattern with lots of possible variations for very effective borders.
Suzanne illustrates the steps for drawing Barberpole and some variations, here. UPDATE: Early in the Summer of 2014 Suzanne McNeill’s blog was removed and all the posts and images were lost, so this link no longer works.
Her site is being reconstructed as much as possible and until it’s available again, many of her patterns like Barberpole can quite easily be figured out. Have fun challenging your Zentangle® deconstructing abilities!

Good Morning Linda,
Today is such a bright sunny and refreshing day. I’m sitting at my dining room table finishing up breakfast, scrolling through the pages of this glorious site to see which combination of tangles I want to create today. I am reminded, as I am always when I visit the site of the massive, really, amount of information contained and wanted to say “Thank You Linda Farmer” for taking the time to post and maintain this beautiful site. I am never lacking for content, stories and of course… tangles. Enjoy your day, be well and be safe!
