Today’s bold Art Deco-like tangle is another fine one from Taiwan CZT Mina (Ping-Min) Hsiao.
She writes that her inspiration for 3V comes from the shape of a crown.
Like many of you, I love geometric tangles. This easy grid-based tangle can also be drawn “grid-free” as you’ll see in Mina’s examples below. Note the position of the peak of each V in the grid square: the first is at the half-way point and the second and third V’s each divide the remaining space in half.
Mina illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing 3V here. In her monotangle Zentangle® example Mina rotates the grid seeds (or reticula) to achieve various combinations.

Mina included two versions of the steps, noting that her favorite way to draw it is the one below, a continuous line version, as she finds it more relaxing. With these steps she shows how 3V works without a grid, drawn along a simple line.

I too love geometric shapes and how a line transform to create something of beauty like your 3V. I like your 3V even more because I am the third born and the first letter of my name begins with ‘V’, that is too much of a coincidence. Thank you for creating one of my favorite designs. Also, I found your 3V by using the Tangle Randomizer, the number is 14, I started at 0-9 and counted until I reached 14. Perfect! I will search for more of your Tangles.
