How to draw EKE

Eke is a Zentangle®-original tangle pattern introduced by Zentangle’s originators.

Eke is drawn like a continuous line of the cursive letter “e”, drawn “right side up and then upside down“, as Sandy Bartholomew describes it.

The thing to remember with this tangle is to allow enough space in your “e” loops for another loop to fit between them. And personally I found Eke easier to draw in columns rather than side to side, turning the tile 90 degrees for each column. Play with it and see what comes easiest to you. Update 09/2013: I’ve replaced my original (novice tangler) Eke drawing from May 2010 here on the right with one I like much better.
