How to draw FROSTZ

Hi there my tangling friends!

We begin our brand new week of fresh tangle inspiration with the sweet Frostz tangle from Spanish CZT Laura Varas. This is her first tangle on the site.

Laura introduces herself and Frostz,

I have been a veterinarian for 10 years and Zentangle® came into my life after suffering stress and anxiety at work. A coworker, and now also CZTEU8, showed me the technique during the pandemic and since then she hasn’t stopped doing it. In the last European seminar I decided to get certified as CZT to be able to show other people this technique and help them in any way I can.

I couldn’t tell you that the tangle was inspired by anything, it simply came up in my mind one afternoon while I was tangling and I captured it. At first it was part of a fragment (it was the original idea) but then I saw that taking it outside made it much more organic and spectacular.

Frostz reminds me of those sweet flowers that bloom in the snow, appropriately called Snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis). “Most species flower in winter, before the vernal equinox (20 or 21 March in the Northern Hemisphere), but some flower in early spring and late autumn.” ~ Wikipedia

Laura illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Frostz below where she demonstrates two different ways of adding the auras. On the left each motif is completed with an aura, on the right each motif is added without an aura then a single aura surrounds the entire pattern.
