How to draw DEPTH

Hello friends and welcome back! Great to see you and I hope you’re doing well.

As of yesterday another brutal 3-week marathon of the Tour de France wrapped up, this time in Nice instead of Paris. Each year this amazing event manages to be at least as exciting as the previous ones and the scenery is ever-changing and fabulous. Once again the Tour has provided Robert and I with hours of relaxing and entertaining viewing. Perfect for nursing the summer colds we somehow picked up! But after yesterday’s energizing, joyful, optimistic news, I feel transformed already 🙂

And are we ready for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics beginning on Friday night??

Today’s bold grid-based Depth tangle is another fun deconstruction from Texas CZT Suzanne McNeill.

Depth is from Suzanne’s Zentangle 7 – Inspiring Circles, Zendalas & Shapes booklet originally released in November 2012 then updated in 2014. Check out the BOOK REVIEWS > ZENTANGLE 7 page on the top menu bar for more about this publication.

For me the key to this tangle is turning the tile while making each set of strokes, particularly beginning at Step 3. Depth adds a lovely bold woven texture to your tiles and makes a great ribbon or frame too.
