It’s the weekend, and possibly Hallowe’en party time? As well as the beginning of “sugar season“!
Welcome back for today’s creative tangle to explore. NoW is another sweet one from NY CZT Jody Genovese who “NoW” has 26 cool tangles on the site!
Jody explains how NoW got its name and gives us some tips for tangling it.
I’m calling it NoW because as you are drawing it you can start to see that spelled out if you use your imagination.
One tip to get a little more overlap is to make the ‘N’ shapes a little narrower and to bring the point closer to the orb. Then when you start the next ‘N’ it can go behind the previous one a bit more.
Also, the wild looking one below the steps is just that. I made the lines curvy instead of straight and it gives the shape some character.
It might look complicated but NoW is actually easy and even I had no trouble with the “drawing behind” part which sometimes befuddles me. The final step includes rounding which adds a great finishing touch when added around the edges.
Jody illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing NoW below. Going clockwise Jody has paired NoW with Paizel in the first tile, Printemps in the 3Z, Tagh in the Zendala, and “the Wild NoW with Crazy ‘Nzeppel“ in the tile below the steps.
