Hello again my tangling friends and a very happy Friday to ya!
Today’s whimsical Fescurus Verae tangle is from CZT Verónica Vázquez Orozco and it’s her third on the site.
Verónica provides an equally whimsical description of her tangle,
Fescurus Verae, is a tangle that comes from the excavation of the desert of creativity and was hidden for 5 centuries full of stonish lines and with the doubt if is a tail or a head of a mysterious being.
The name was given … in a good and democratic session of a brainstorm of names.
Fescurus Verae clearly shares DNA with the Zentangle®-original Fescu. For “my” example, I’ve actually taken a bit of a liberty and used Verónica’s own.
Verónica illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Fescurus Verae below and she features it in two Zentangle monotangle tiles.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your thanks helps motivate them to continue to share! And please share a link to your favorite tangles on social media. Thanks!
Check out the tag veronicavo for more of Verónica’s tangles on TanglePatterns.com.
Have a great weekend and we’ll see you back here again on Monday!

Thank you!!!
Veronica – Thank you for this interesting tangle. I intend to use it as a teaching tangle and will credit your original creativity, of course. Here are a few Classroom Challenges: 1) How many other **different** auras can you imagine? and 2) Start with **any** simple tangle (Fescue, Tipple, Printemps, S-shape) and “dress it up” with auras for something quite different. Thanks again.
For a great jump-start on exploring the possibilities of auras, you can’t go wrong with Maria’s tutorial first included on the site in Tangle Refresher 97 – Exploring the creative possibilities of Auras.
Thanks for this reference, Linda. I also see this as a great way to wrap up the lesson after seeing what the class “creates”.
An interesting tangleation of fescu. Thanks for a fun play.
