How to draw AMPLE

Hi everyone, welcome back!

Are you settling into the new year and getting used to writing 2022? We don’t write checks/cheques as frequently as we used to, but I still find myself dating things 2021. Old habits.

Our easy Monday tangle (accidentally posted on Sunday 🙂 ) is a ribbon-style one from Massachusetts CZT Katie Crommett.

Ample is her second tangle on the site, the interesting Daviso was her first.

Katie writes,

I love organic tangles and tangles that create little crevices that are good for shading. I was playing with the letter “U” and this is what resulted.

I’m a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT15 in 2014) in Massachusetts. I used Zentangle as a daily practice for focusing and creative relaxation, but I also do a multitude of other artistic explorations. Most recently, I’ve been working on a traveling art journal project with four other friends.

As you’ll see when you visit Katie’s blog, I’ve used one of her tangleation variations for my Ample example. I use a Micron PN for a change and I’m not sure I’m crazy about how bold it is on the regular paper I use for my examples. It’s much nicer on the luxurious Fabriano Artistico printmaking paper our Zentangle® tiles are made of. Or maybe I’m just not used to the bolder line of the PN?
