How to draw HEART CHAINS

Hi everyone, welcome to another week of tangling creativity, I’m delighted to have your company for a bit 🙂

Generally we jump-start our week with a super easy tangle and Heart Chains is right up there in that department.

Heart Chains is from CZT Barbara Duel Johnson and it’s her second on the site, the first being Deesie.

Heart Chains makes our 62nd heart-based tangle. Heart Chains is a more embellished version — a fancy cousin you might say — of Lori Howe’s Heartvine which was the very first heart tangle added to the site in January 2011.

Barbara writes,

“I have been working on some hearts, LOL. … Heart Chains was conceived while working on tangles for Valentine’s Day Cards.“

Heart Chains offers lots of options for variations as you’ll see in a minute, it’s a good one for your ZIAs too with color and glittery embellishment opportunities. Fun and easy, what could be better.

Barbara illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Heart Chains below where she includes five different simple variations to explore. I used one of Barbara’s variations for my example and gave it a simple twist.
