How to draw OCEANS 13

If your inbox has been anything like mine, it has been “Black Friday” for a week now. Thankfully, today, it actually is Good Friday and maybe the email flood will subside.

As I’ve said in the past, I’m not a shopper and when it comes to Black Friday, I’m REALLY not a shopper! As the expression goes, “it’s way too peopley outside”.

And a day off like today makes for a perfect opportunity to enjoy sitting quietly, perhaps with a glass of wine, and tangling away.

Today’s Oceans 13 is from German CZT Marion Seidel and it’s her first on the site. Marion is a member of the CZT#30 class.

She introduces herself and explains that her inspiration for Oceans 13 came from something she noticed while watching Oceans 13 the movie — “a 2007 American heist film directed by Steven Soderbergh”:

I live in Northeim, Germany, a very small village-only 500 people, near Göttingen, i am married and i have three kids.

i try to tangle as often as i can and my kids are quite interested in this artform too – they try to tangle by themselves and i hope they enjoy it as much as i do.

I was inspired by the movie and recognized the nice pattern in a window.

Oceans 13 is a bit similar to Wednesday’s Surya and also a little like Hemp. Oceans 13 is easy and fun to do as well as being versatile. It can be grid-based or used as a ribbon or frame, or as a free-form stand-alone design. Vary fills, shading, add color or embellish to your heart’s content.
