It’s the weekend before our Thanksgiving Day holiday, coming up next Thursday, and I’m guessing there’ll be a lot of baking and cooking going on this weekend in advance preparation. Unless you’re like me and can’t decide what I want to do until a day or so before. Deliciousness will happen, regardless. But most of all, thankfulness.
Canadian tangler Cyndi Knapp is back today with her Jago (pronounced like Jell-o® thus “Jag-o”) tangle. She’s been out of commission for a few months dealing with carpal tunnel syndrome, no fun for a dedicated tangler!
Cyndi writes,
“In the middle of yet another one of those sleepless nights, a Zentangle® pattern came to me.
I thought that was a good omen so tried my hand at tangling after a 3 month hiatus due to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I’m taking it easy but am able to tangle again thanks to the Ortho wrist night splint the neurologist said to wear. It’s great to be back in the saddle!
There’s no correlation between the name and the pattern. It was picked from a list of possible names kept on hand for when a new pattern comes to mind.
An easy pattern to tangle, Jago is versatile in that it works as a background or focal point and has numerous fill possibilities.“
Jago is a cool grid-based tangle with loads of possibilities for shading and fills. It appears complicated but it’s easy to tangle and fun to embellish. And, as you can see in Cyndi’s Zendala below, the grid fragment adapts itself to other shapes too. In this case, in the round.
Cyndi illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Jago below with her monotangle Zendala and a ghosted graphite background version. Quite the sleepless night!
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your thanks helps motivate them to continue to share!

I love the kaleidoscope look of Jago. Looks like fun. Thanks, Cyndi and thanks, Linda.
Thanks Cyndi for an awesome share. Love this one and will have to try the circle effect for a snowflake/kaleidoscope.
