Taiwan tangler YuRu Chen is back today with her very adaptable Brace-S ribbon-style tangle.
YuRu writes that Brace-S came as a result of experimentation with auras. She decided to start with bracket or brace shapes and she wanted a way to link them up. Enter the S shape. “Then I added a couple of lines and ended up with this pattern.” Brace-S.
Brace-S has so many possibilities and YuRu has explored and shared many of them with us as you’ll see below.
YuRu illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Brace-S here where she’s included an example of variations together with the Zentangle®-original Diva Dance. Even more variations and examples follow below.
Here YuRu demonstrates her original tangle along with nine ways to vary Brace-S.
YuRu uses Brace-S with several Zentangle®-original tangles in these three lovely ZIA tiles showing Brace-S used in configurations different from a ribbon or border style.
In this Zendala, Brace-S makes a lovely circular border.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please do leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours.

How pretty, it looks like a bracelet! And so easy too.
WOW, so many cool variations! A tangle all to itself!
Wonderful and flexible tangle! I immediately got the impression of a line of little fishes holding onto each other’s tails with their mouths, doing a synchronized “line dance” 🙂
