Jelly Legs is our very easy Monday tangle and it’s the first on TanglePatterns from California tangler Amber Davis.
Jelly Legs has a delicate appearance and owes its name to Amber’s children. “It reminded my 7 year old of kelp but that name was taken. It reminded my 9 year old of jellyfish legs hence the name.
I’m in Yorba Linda, California. I stumbled across Zentangle® while my 3 girls and I were shopping for craft supplies. I’ve always been crafty but never felt I had talent for drawing.
Zentangle came to me at a time when my health was not at its best and my stress was very high. I jumped in and it helped immediately to relieve tension and calm my mind and body. Although it seems drastic to say it was a life saver, it has truly impacted my life in so many positive ways.
I am thrilled to be registered for the CZT27 seminar and can’t wait to get more involved with the Zentangle community.”
While Jelly Legs is indeed easy to draw, bear in mind to make the crossing-over stroke of Step 2 “loopy” enough that you have enough space to add the solid shape in the following step. Pretty enough as is, there are also many ways you can embellish this tangle.
Amber illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Jelly Legs below.

Amber~
Thank you. This is a fun tangle!
Thank you, Amber! Cool tangle…
So easy and effective. I particularly like the way that way that step 4 results in ‘highlights’, livening up the whole tangle. Thank you.
I love this. I use a similar version of this in my journal to separate drawings, so this gives me yet another way to draw it. Thanks for sharing this with us, Amber. And thank you, Linda, for posting it.
i hope your health is a lot better now, Amber! I really like Jelly Legs – it could be seen as a leafy pattern too, but I like the thought of jellyfish legs or kelp better!
This is so pretty!!! Love it..

I like this one. Lots of motion.
I like the way the movement of this pattern can fill difficult to handle places. Airy
Thank you for the nice and easy tangle. I am registered for CZT#27 also, so I look forward to seeing you there.
This tangle will look good on some of the shells I tangle on!
Thank you!
Great tangle to try with even our youngest tanglers . . . and such a fun name! Thank you so much for sharing Jelly Legs.
Fun tangle. Have fun at CZT 27
