Recently Taiwan CZT Lin Chiu shared her lovely Flovine tangle with us and today she’s back with the very seasonal Xmas-red.
I’ve been saving this one for today.
Lin writes,
“This pattern inspiration comes from poinsettias.
In Taiwan, in the Chinese language poinsettias are called ‘Xmas-red’.“

Whether Lin’s tangle pattern reminds you of holly or poinsettias, Xmas-red is a winner this special time of the year.
Poinsettias (Euphorbia pulcherrima) have a really interesting history and I learned a lot I didn’t know about them, check out this Wikipedia link.
Lin illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Xmas-red here and she also suggests many different ways for you to explore this simple iconic Christmas holly-or-poinsettia motif in her lovely Zentangle® examples.

with the busy christmas period over i have just had a go at your beautiful tangle. i feel like starting next years cards already. Hope you have a very happy new year and thanks for all your inspiration in 2014.
This beautiful design will go great with all of the ideas Linda gave us for Christmas ornaments and gifts! I think I will use these on Christmas tags! I might even add a few to the corners of my Christmas card envelopes!
