How to draw CARP3

Zentangle pattern: CARP3. Image © Linda Farmer and TanglePatterns.com. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. You may use this image for your personal non-commercial reference only. The unauthorized pinning, reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal.CARP3 is a tangle pattern from CZT Georgianna Klein, aka Georgi.

I am a new CZT from Grand Rapids, MI and Walnut Creek, CA. This pattern was created as homework for the CZT-11 Seminar in June. It is called CARP3 after the carpet in the third floor hallway of Hotel Providence. It reminds me a bit of Warped Eggs, a favorite of mine.

She writes that the participants in the June training seminar chose this name from three she proposed.

I think you might find CARP3 easier to draw than Warped Eggs because the floral element helps guide placement of the connecting strokes.

Georgi illustrates the steps for drawing CARP3 below.

From the realm of patchwork quiltmakers – the curved lines make the tesselating one-patch pattern “Apple Core.”
It’s also a pattern in big-stitch Japanese “Sashiko” embroidery (though I don’t know the name).
This chart makes the connecting strokes so easy!
    Thank you, Georgi!

This a very pretty pattern and will be perfect for a background. Thank you for sharing.

This tangle is so pretty! It’s also one of the “wobbly” one was I call the., that usually give me a hard time, so I’m going to go off and work at it. As you’ve noted elsewhere, those tangles that give us a hard time often end up being favourites. I think it’s because we’ve worked so hard to get them right, we know them better – they’ve become part of us. Thanks, as always, for all your work on behalf of the Zentangle community.
