The thing I find intriguing about Dayton, OH, CZT® Carole Ohl’s tangle patterns is how they usually develop in an unexpected way. Puf and HekZee leap to mind, for example.
This is also true with her pattern, Bitten.
Carole found her inspiration for it in “the traditional houndstooth pattern found in woven textiles. I’ve often thought it would be a hard pattern to deconstruct, but when I squinted at a houndstooth scarf the other day in a store, it all made sense.”
You begin with a grid, then the strokes and fills that follow end up producing these cool angled star shapes.
Carole illustrates the steps for drawing Bitten here. She posted a couple of lovely Zentangles featuring Bitten and several other tangle patterns already posted on TanglePatterns here.
BTW, if you haven’t read it yet please treat yourself to her More than a Metaphor post — I call this the Zen of Zentangle.
