The lovely Sindoo tangle pattern comes to us from new tangler Sharon Robinson of Southampton, “the cruise capital of Europe” on the south coast of England.
My example of Sharon’s elegant grid-based tangle is a variation as you will see by comparing her illustration below. I loved how it looked when I reached this stage so I added a very light drop shadow on most of the strokes then called it quits.
I have been tangling for a few months now and love everything about Zentangle®. I am a English woman in my forty’s and have a background in calligraphy. I love all forms of art and crafts. I have recently been on a cruise from my home town of Southampton and one of the restaurants on board was called Sindu and had a Indian theme. There were fantastic plaster wall sculptures all around and one in particular seemed like it would make a good tangle. This is my tangle based on the plaster wall plate – called Sindoo in homage to the restaurant.
Here are Sharon’s step-by-step instructions for drawing Sindoo along with an example of a variation and her Sindoo monotangle.

I love this tangle pattern. There seem to be a number of variations that can be applied.
But I must admit that I had trouble doing it at first. I couldn’t get the initial petal shape wide enough to leave room for the inner shapes. Once I did, the rest fell right into place.
Thanks, Sharon and Linda.
This is fabulous! I will be playing with this today and can’t wait to use it. Thanks
I love curving patterns! This one looks lovely…looking forward to incorporating it into my tangling soon:)
Beautiful! I love it 🙂
Sindoo is, quite simply, lovely. I’m looking forward to incorporating it in my next collage. Thank you for sharing!
This is most attractive. It is a sort of flower shape without being too complicated. I really like it.
Never replied before but Sindoo is simply too lovely not to comment on: utterly luscious.
Thank you!
I can’t stop drawing this one every where! Anytime I have a blank block of space, I have it. My notes from meetings are getting very pretty. I love this one.
🙂 Thank you for sharing!
Wow, this is gorgeous!
I love this pattern. The design seems to draw you inward and then back out. This is one of my favorites! Thank you for sharing.
