How to draw N-MESHED

Zentangle pattern: N-Meshed. Image © Linda Farmer and TanglePatterns.com. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. You may use this image for your personal non-commercial reference only. The unauthorized pinning, reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal. This week we’re starting out with a tangle pattern that while simple to draw, can be just a little tricky.

N-Meshed is by fellow Floridian Linda Rainsford, and it’s her first on the site.

She writes, “I saw  two intersecting diamonds on a tattoo on a TV show and started playing around with it and came up with this pattern. I enjoy using it because it is just four strokes repeated.

I first saw Zentangle® on an episode of ‘Scrapbook Memories’ about three years ago, and as they say, ‘the rest is history.’  I was instantly hooked!

I am retired and living in Ormond Beach, Florida.  I spend a lot of my time caring for my 89 year old mom. Zentangle has been such a blessing to me because it can fit into any little corner of time and be done anywhere—not to mention the stress relief it provides.

The challenge for me in drawing N-Meshed is keeping the diamond shapes consistent in size. Linda also offers tips on how to keep them aligned because the whole works can go wonky if you don’t. I added the little dot in my example just for fun (and to restrain myself from adding shading).

Once again a reminder to be mindful and be deliberate with each stroke. If you rush, you’ll end up with N-Mushed 😉

Here are Linda’s step-by-step instructions for drawing N-Meshed and two very nice Zentangles featuring her tangle.
