How to draw LANIE

Zentangle pattern: LanieThe very pretty floral tangle Lanie is from fellow Floridian Adele Bruno and this is her second tangle pattern on the site.

If I’m not mistaken, Adele is attending the CZT#9 class in Providence, Rhode Island this week. Another enthusiastic class of certified Zentangle® teachers will graduate in a few days and we congratulate them all!

This pattern is named for our daughter Elena, we affectionately call her ‘Lanie’. Her favorite flower is the Gerber daisy. The pattern is flower-like, and as sweet and bright as she is!

Would you guess that Lanie begins with a grid? Lanie is a very easy tangle to draw and looks great without shading but as you will see in Adele’s completed Zentangle examples below, this tangle gets nice dimensionality with shading added.

Here are Adele’s step-by-step instructions for drawing Lanie.

Here’s Adele’s lovely monotangle Zentangle featuring Lanie.

Adele Bruno's "Lanie" monotangle

This Zentangle combines Lanie with several other tangles. “The border that Lanie leaves is quite pretty don’t you think? …so many possibilities!!”
